This walled and well sheltered garden has been described as "Long Melford's best-kept secret" - something we
are changing in a big way, after taking on the Pub in late 2005.
The Garden stretches some 50 metres and includes paved patio areas, grassy lawns, mature trees and flower borders.
A new paved path now runs all the way from rear gate to the Lounge Bar entrance.
There is plenty of space to relax over a drink and meal, and the shelter provided by the trees and walls allows
its use in almost any weather.
It is also very child-friendly - parents can relax while their toddlers play safely.
At the rear, the Garden opens onto a lane alongside the Long Melford Village Hall, where many local events e.g:
the Farmers' Market) are held. The Melford Scout & Guide Hut is also opposite The Swan's rear gate.
From here a network of local footpaths radiate, making The Swan an ideal starting point for a walk around the village
and nearby countryside. Suffolk Cycle Routes and long-distance walks pass close by, too.
